Booking Engine Integration: What Should a Resort Website Quote Cover?

A resort website quote should explain the booking handoff and responsibilities, not simply promise that an integration is included.

Editorial cover: A clearer quote for the booking journey.

Ask what integration includes

A proposal that says booking engine included leaves important questions unanswered. It may describe a link, an embedded provider interface or a more involved connection. Those are different scopes, and their suitability depends on the provider and the property.

Ask the website team to describe the guest journey in plain language before comparing prices. Which pages will be built? What will the provider handle? Which account must the resort own? What access is needed before work can begin?

Our hotel and resort website service in Tagaytay treats the booking route as a responsibility map, with the exact implementation confirmed before it becomes an agreed deliverable.

Separate website work from provider operations

A website team may control the accommodation pages and the visual handoff, while the booking provider controls availability, rates or confirmation. Your resort may remain responsible for keeping the provider’s information accurate. The proposal should identify these boundaries.

An illustrative resort might keep its current reservation provider while replacing an outdated website. The scope could include new room pages, a clearer booking action and testing of the handoff. It would not automatically include migrating reservation records, changing payment arrangements or replacing the property management process.

Use the direct booking website checklist to describe the journey before requesting a detailed integration quote.

Build a proposal comparison sheet

Use the same questions for every supplier so that similar-looking totals can be compared fairly. Keep any unresolved item visible rather than assuming the more expensive proposal includes it.

Record:

  • The provider and integration method being proposed.
  • Any compatibility check still required.
  • The accounts, subscriptions and access the resort supplies.
  • Accommodation content and images included in the build.
  • The system responsible for rates and availability.
  • Test scenarios and who verifies each result.
  • Launch support, training and the end of the included support period.
  • Recurring costs, exclusions and change request arrangements.

A useful quote identifies decisions that depend on the provider. It should not make a blanket promise that every booking system can be connected in the same way. Ask for confirmation of the actual requirements before authorising work.

Include acceptance checks and a handover

The guest should understand when they are leaving the main site, how to get help and which step confirms the stay. The property team needs to know how to update content without accidentally changing the booking route.

Agree a review plan for desktop and phone journeys, accommodation links, confirmation wording and error or help routes that can be observed safely. If the test would create a booking, send a message or process a payment, define and authorise that test separately. A website supplier should not improvise a live reservation as routine quality assurance.

The accommodation page guide can help you include content checks alongside the technical handoff. The best integration still depends on accurate room information.

Commission the missing work, not a vague replacement

An existing booking route may be adequate while the accommodation pages need substantial improvement. Alternatively, a polished website may be sending guests into a confusing external journey. Describe the problem before deciding that the entire system must be replaced.

Our website design and development service can scope the website work, while the integration requirements are confirmed with the chosen provider. We can also discuss what should be measured without treating booking-button clicks as confirmed revenue.

Request a resort website consultation with your provider name, current website and a short account of where guests get stuck. We can help turn those observations into a proposal your property team can review.
